In collaboration with six local post-primary schools, Christian Brothers Grammar, Loreto Grammar, Drumragh Integrated College, Omagh Academy, Omagh High School, St John's Business & Enterprise College Dromore, Terex Omagh in Northern Ireland has launched an exciting competition!
Students from Year 9 & 10 in each school are working as part of a project team to design a new Terex-themed concept for the Crevenagh Road roundabout (the main roundabout entering Omagh from Belfast).
With guidance from Terex STEM ambassadors, they’ll bring their ideas to life from concept to installation.
The winning design/school will be announced in May 2024.
This initiative highlights our commitment to the community, whilst encouraging creativity and innovation among our young local talents.
KEY DATES:
January 2024: All Year 10/ students from are invited to participate in the competition to design a concept for the Crevenagh Road roundabout.
March 2024: A panel of judges from Terex Omagh will select five winning concepts from each school. The students behind these chosen concepts will then collaborate as a project team to represent their respective schools. A dedicated STEM Ambassador and Design Engineer will provide regular mentorship and guidance to the project team.
May 2024: Winning design/school to be announced.
The winning concept will be installed and launched on the Crevenagh Road roundabout.
